I will keep this short I’ve have move many WordPress sites and in the process you learn different ways to do it! But so far this is the best one for me. Remember everyone is entitled to their own opinion this might work for you but not everyone.

This will be a step-by-step tutorial with screen captures included (click to make bigger).

In my case I work with cPanel:

First you will go to your phpMyAdmin and download your current WordPress Database:

1. Select the database of the WordPress Site you are going to move

2. Click on the "EXPORT" button on the top menu bar

3. Please check that you have "Quick" as the Export Method. Under Format "SQL" and just click GO!

4. Now you will go to your FTP program (or your prefer method) and download ALL of the content of your WordPress Site.

I’ll skip this screen capture assuming you already know this

5. Now you will upload all of your content to your new hosting/server (Assuming you already created the domain/sub-domain as you need)

6. Once everything is upload on your new host/server we'll go to MySQL Databases and created a new Database and User for your WordPress Site. Don't forget to assign your Username to your Database give "ALL PRIVILEGES" (collect this data you will need it latter).

7. Now you'll go back to phpMyAdmin on your new host/server select the empty Database you just created an click the "IMPORT" button on the top menu bar.

8. Import your Database! Make sure all the options on the Screen Capture are selected.

This is a question that many amateur graphic designers have when the time comes to start making money of their graphics.

In this blog entry I will try to help you decide how to price your time. Most graphic designer charge by the hour or give a flat rate base on the hours they assume would be spend making each project.

Pros and Cons for each strategy.

HOURLY RATE

When you set an hourly rate for your work you will have to give a timeline of your work to your client explaining how many hours you spend on the project and what exactly you did each hour (this depends on the client of course).

Example at the end of the day you spend 5 hours working on a magazine (8.5×11) ad and you set your hourly rate to $50 that would be 5×50= $250 but then your client ask you to make some changes and you have to go back and add $50 more for the extra time, tallying up the total to $300.

FLAT RATE

When you set a flat rate by the project is basically the same as before but you will beforehand multiply your hour rate by the hours you predict will take you to complete the task. You should always add a few hours of “extra” time in case something goes bad, the client ask for change or you need more time.

Example a magazine (8.5×11) ad will usually take you 5 hours to complete and you set your hourly rate to $50 just multiply 50×5 and always ad and extra two hours that would be $350 flat rate.

How to decide upon your rate, should I charge $20 $50 $75 the hour?

1) Find out what other graphic designer are charging in your area to make sure you are in their range and not to low or to high on the scale.

2) All is in the experience you have to be humble. If your are just starting making this for a living start with the most basic hourly rate of your area.

3) As you go up and get more clients you can start thinking of giving yourself a raise. But don’t be drastic if you used to charge on a $20 the hour basic don’t jump to $50 the hour just like that.

And this are my tips and knowledge about How Much to Charge for Graphic Design.
